The Role
Due to company expansion, we are currently looking for an experienced Facilities Labourer, to join our team based in the south side of Glasgow. This is a temporary position - initially for 3 months.
The role is Monday - Friday day-shift.
Role Description
Materials Management
Constant communication with the materials and manufacturing teams regarding materials management.
Materials movement - raw material and finished material movements to and from Inspection; decanting of parts and cross referencing of part information including serial numbers.
Removals of packaging - either to a central store and breakdown or disposal through the site waste programme.
Maintain Product Packaging
All reusable packaging will be centrally stored, and there is a responsibility for managing the locations and stock levels, ensuring there is always the correct packaging for the correct parts.
Waste Management
Support the waste management process, move of waste metal chippings from the machines to the waste store, loading into skips, bags and preparation for uplift.
General Floor Cleaning
Maintain all workshop floor areas using the various machines available, frequent cleaning of main walkway areas and detailed cleaning of all other areas e.g., around machines, edges of corridors etc to ensure the site maintains a good standard of cleanliness.
Other Duties
Support other functions in the Facilities team during times of holiday or when additional support is required.
Maintain site housekeeping to the highest standard, ensuring health & safety and environmental standards and guidelines are adhered to at all times.
Escorting contractors or visitors when required.
Operate floor cleaning equipment in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
Operate forklift trucks in a safe, efficient and effective manner.
Essential Experience & Qualities
Forklift licence.
Experience of working on manufacturing sites.
Be an effective and confident communicator,
Be flexible, dependable and willing to go that extra mile for the customer and company.
Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Able to work on own initiative, at the same time able to take direction
Be a self-starter and maximise personal effectiveness by way of continuous improvement.
Be fully aware of the H&S implications of working on factory floor
