The Malloy Aeronautics Team:



Malloy Aeronautics Limited specializes in the development of heavy lift unmanned air vehicles (UAVs) for both civilian and military uses. Located in Berkshire, our operations are notable for their focus on in-house design and manufacturing. This vertical integration means we control the production of most aircraft components on-site, enhancing our ability to innovate and maintain high standards across all stages of development.

About The Role:



Manufacture, assemble and visually inspect a range of innovative carbon composite and glass fibre components for our unmanned vehicles.

Utilise a wide range of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical engineering skills throughout the manufacture.

Report and respond to any failures quickly and safely.

Training of and assisting other staff as required.

Dexterity and speed whilst building aircraft components and systems.

Provide flexible support to other departments when operational demand requires it.

Ability to hold Security Clearance - 5 years residence in the UK



What you'll being doing (but not limited too):



Production of individual carbon fibre components, including elbows, skid tubes, side panels and vents, all produced through heat and pressure curing.

Lay-up and press composites to produce components such as chassis bodies, utilising existing moulds and high-pressure heat.

Mould tool cleaning, pre and post manufacture.

Component sub assembly using manual techniques and minimal tooling such as pop riveter, hand drill and other mechanical hardware.

Dress off and cleaning of components and sub-assemblies using air, battery and electric powered tooling
with precision and dexterity, in a safe manner.

Visual quality checks accompanied by reporting on quality control issues and component failure.

Essential Skills and Experiences:



Able to demonstrate hands on experience in previous roles as a manufacturing / assembly technician,
in an engineering discipline.

Knowledge and understanding of handling both pre impregnated carbon (pre-preg) and glass fibre raw materials.

Awareness of material properties and their reactions when exposed to heat and pressure.

Ability to generate process or product improvement in the course of daily duties.

Competent in basic Microsoft software applications.

Health and Safety awareness, with particular focus on carbon and glass fibre as well as paint applications

Able to multitask and work in a high pressure and task-oriented environment.

Ability to physically manipulate CSMC, safely handle glass fibre, and be able to understand build sequence instructions.

Previous experience of working with minor hand tooling.

Manual dexterity, manual handling.

Must be adaptable, flexible and open to change in a fast-paced business.
