Qualified Teacher Salary: 28,887 - 36,268



Unqualified Teacher Salary: 26,308 - 33,474

We have an exciting opportunity for a Land and Animal Teacher to join the team at our new Ashdown Garden School. The school is aiming to open in 2026 and is based near the Emerson College site near the beautiful Ashdown Forest and the village of Forest Row.

You will be required to deliver a Land and Animal curriculum and to create an environment to support the learning and development needs of all students. You will also be required to support the day-to-day running of the Farm site including the land and managing the care of the animals.

Main duties include:



The planning and delivering of high-quality sessions to groups of students Developing curriculum opportunities for land-based learning and ensuring land-based learning is supported throughout the school Ensure Biodynamic principles are fully embedded into Ashdown Garden School Have primary care of the animals of the farm, including feeding, cleaning and medical treatment assistance (this will include weekends on a rota basis) Support the ongoing creation and development of land-based curriculum and biodynamic strategy for the school sites Work with teachers on planning therapeutic and educational learning programmes Support staff training and deliver workshops in the field of biodynamics

The qualifications, skills and experiences that we are looking for are:



Full teaching qualification or equivalent experience A team player with experience of teaching with young people with SEND Adaptable and shows initiative High level of personal resilience Training in Biodynamic Agriculture or willing to attend training and work towards a qualification Have knowledge and experience (desirable) of working in specialist education and have an understanding of the Ruskin Mill Trust method of Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE
The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching and hold a teaching qualification. However, we would still welcome applications from individuals who have not yet achieved this but are willing to train and learn.
