Job Description

We are a small but ambitious land development start-up company. We specialise in sourcing land for residential and commercial development and managing the entire planning journey -- from identifying potential sites to securing land value through to analysis and planning and development.

About the Role:



We're hiring a Land Research & Outreach Assistant to help identify and evaluate development opportunities. You'll conduct online map-based research, measure plots, screen sites against planning criteria, and manage direct outreach to landowners.

This is an ideal role for someone interested in land, planning, or property, with strong attention to detail and a structured mindset.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Land Research & Identification

- Use software to identify plots suitable for development (residential / commercial developments)

- Apply criteria rules (e.g. access width, site size, constraints) to screen potential land

- Measure plots using digital mapping tools using our guidance

- Check planning histories, site constraints, and neighbouring development

- Outreach & Communication

- Generate and mail merge batch direct mail letters using our proven templates

- Maintain clear records of all sites contacted and tracking systems

- Assist in identifying landowner contact details (title register or planning links)

- Support & Admin and may need to deal with incoming enquiries

- Support the land acquisition director with follow-up notes, site tracking, and new opportunity leads

- Occasionally assist with due diligence research (title checks, policy lookups, planning portals, contact councils)

- The confidence and ability to work independently using own initiative

- Development of new systems and processes as the business develops

Desired Skills & Qualities:



Comfortable using online tools and maps (e.g. Google Maps, Land Registery, Planning Portals) Methodical and precise -- you'll be checking site widths and access routes Reliable and organised -- able to hit weekly targets independently Strong written skills for clear letter formatting and recording data An interest in property development, land sourcing and acquisition, or planning is a bonus

What You'll Learn:



How to assess plots for residential and commercial development Basics of land planning (e.g. GDV estimation, backland development, affordable housing triggers) Landowner outreach techniques and pipeline building How to use proprietary software for land sourcing and digital measuring tools to support site screening
