About the role



The Landowner Interface Officer will act as a key liaison between the project team and grantors and their agents, ensuring all proposed activities are communicated effectively and maintaining strong relationships with the landowners.


The role will ensure access is discussed, potential impacts to landowners are minimised, and works are undertaken in alignment with client requirements and expectations

What you'll be doing



Inform and Build Relationships: Proactively inform landowners of upcoming

works ahead of the programme to enhance transparency, build trust, and


maintain positive relationships with the local community.
Correspondence: Handle communications with landowners, land agents,

associated works contractors, and other external stakeholders to ensure smooth


project delivery.
Work alongside SSENT wayleaves officer to understand access agreements &

landowner commitments
Access Agreements: implement and educate team on access agreements for

private land by engaging with landowners early and addressing their concerns.
Conduct site meetings prior to works commencing to confirm access, agree

restrictions, and address other specific requirements.
Site Visits: Conduct daily site visits to confirm that works are compliant with

landowners' requirements and agreed conditions.
Landowner Advice: Advise project staff, consultants, and subcontractors on

landowners' expectations and ensure these are met during construction.
Understand location of private utilities / water supplies and inform construction

team to ensure protection of these assets during planning and construction
Complaint Management: Resolve landowner and client complaints effectively,

ensuring defects or issues are addressed promptly to maintain positive


relationships.
Reporting and Updates: Contribute to regular client update reports and attend

scheme progress meetings to provide timely updates regarding landowner


interactions and project challenges



Who we're looking for



Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to engage tactfully

and diplomatically with diverse stakeholders, including farmers, landowners, and


external organisations.
Analytical thinking and attention to detail when assessing complex or unique

land issues.
A solid understanding of construction works, including utility and linear projects.

Desirable Skills:


Knowledge of wayleave agreements, relevant land use policies, and vegetation

management processes.

Experience:


Proven experience managing landowner or wayleave concerns on linear

infrastructure projects.
Experience liaising with policy makers, councils, and special interest groups

regarding land use impacts
