We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Technician to join our team, responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and gardening, with practical experience in landscape maintenance and construction. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work outdoors, utilise a variety of tools and machinery, and contribute to the creation of beautiful, sustainable landscapes.
Duties
Perform routine landscape maintenance including mowing, pruning, planting, and fertilising to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
Operate power tools such as hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and blowers safely and efficiently.
Use hand tools for planting, edging, weeding, and general garden care.
Assist with construction tasks such as laying turf, installing irrigation systems, and building features like pathways or garden beds.
Operate machinery including excavators and specialised horticultural equipment for larger landscaping projects.
Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems to identify leaks or malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs or adjustments.
Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and mechanical checks to ensure optimal performance.
Support the team with general site maintenance and organisation of materials.
Requirements
Proven experience in landscape maintenance, gardening, or horticulture is highly desirable.
Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and construction machinery such as excavators.
Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively.
Physical fitness to perform outdoor labour including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in maintaining high standards of work.
Valid (or equivalent) driving licence is preferred for operating company vehicles or equipment transport.
Knowledge of construction techniques related to landscaping projects is advantageous.
A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
