Job Description

Our small and friendly care home in Ardrossan has a vacancy for a part- time laundry assistant to cover 25.5 hours/week over 3 days/week.

Responsibilities:

Ensure soiled linen is removed to the laundry as soon as possible, to minimise odours in the residents' areas.

Wash, dry and Iron all linens and residents personal clothing with utmost care.

Carry out routine cleaning and maintenance of all laundry equipment

Return all clean linen to linen cupboards and clothing to resident's rooms on a regular and timely basis, ensuring care staff have sufficient clean linen available to carry out their duties.

Adhere to health and Safety and fire requirements and regulations.

Attend all health and safety and COSHH updates as required by the management

Liaise on a regular basis with the Home manager on all laundry issues

Carry out any small repairs to clothing as needed, liaise with resident's relatives if clothing needs replacing or needs major repairs.

Ensure adequate stocks of laundry cleaning products

Ensure that up to date COSHH sheets are available for all products used and these are available at all times for staff to refer to.

PVG (Disclosure Scotland) essential.
