Payrate: 12.21 per hour


Contracted hours: 40 hrs Per week



Willowbrook House is a specialist Mental Health care facility in Corby located near to the characterful old High Street. This purpose-built modern care-home environment provides a high-quality nursing care and long-term rehabilitation for people with severe mental health difficulties, behaviours that challenge including dementia and high dependency nursing needs.

Established in 1995 St Matthews Healthcare is specialist private Mental Health and Social Care provider of adult in-patient and rehabilitation care with step-down and nursing care provision in the Midlands and East Sussex.

Job Purpose:



Provide a high-quality, infection-free laundry service. Maintain hygienic, clean, and safe standards for linen, ensuring it is well-presented for residents and other departments. Follow housekeeping and laundry operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:



Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations. Accurately complete housekeeping and laundry paperwork Keep personal mandatory training up to date. Adhere to local safeguarding policies. Follow the rota developed by the Head Housekeeper. Collaborate with team members during staff shortages. Operational Standards: Handle laundry according to operating procedures, separating clean and dirty items. Follow wash charts for washing machines, check garment labels during drying and ironing. Organize linen cupboards, report damaged items, and maintain neat presentation. Iron and finish residents' clothing, making repairs as needed. Coordinate dry cleaning and track costs. Label new residents' garments in collaboration with care staff. Report clothing conditions to facilitate replacements. Communicate with residents and adjust laundry routines based on feedback. Safely operate washing machines, tumble dryers, and irons. Use cleaning substances efficiently and follow manufacturer instructions. Secure laundry and chemical stores when not in use. Display safety signage during floor cleaning. Report maintenance issues and safety hazards promptly.
