We are looking for a laundry assistant for 10 hours a week.

To provide a laundry service for clients of the home/centre, contributing to the provision of a comfortable, safe and hygienic environment.

Working on a two week rota :-

Week 1 Thursday and Friday

Week 2 Saturday and Sunday

Key relationships:

Line managed by Unit Manager (or designated member of staff management team).

Reports to a Senior Officer on a day to day basis.

Works as part of a small team.

Interacts with clients showing courtesy and consideration of their needs.

Key result areas include:

Laundry service - providing a comprehensive laundry service by washing, drying and ironing all items as instructed (bed linen, clothes, towels and tea-towels); disinfecting any soiled items and meeting client\'s personal laundry needs including urgent repairs where necessary.

Launder soft furnishings when appropriate.

Ordering laundry supplies as appropriate.

Maintaining laundry area and equipment in a clean and safe working order and notifying the Unit Manager of any safety hazards or defective equipment.

Provisional Interview Date: 19th October 2023

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

The job may require unsocial hours working including weekends and Bank Holidays. Payment arrangements will be detailed in any contract offer made.

Saturday and Sunday hours will be paid at plain time where it is part of your normal working pattern unless it is between 7pm and 7am, where enhanced rates of pay apply. Enhanced pay rates are paid for Bank Holiday working.
