Council is seeking a Lawyer (Planning) to join our Legal and
Democratic Service, reporting to the Principal Lawyer - Planning,
Regeneration & Property. This is an excellent opportunity to

high-quality legal advice and support to a range of
stakeholders.
About the
Role
As a Lawyer (Planning), you will be
responsible for:
Providing legal advice and support on planning, regeneration, and property matters
Advising on planning applications, appeals, and enforcement issues
Drafting legal documents, including agreements, notices, and correspondence
Representing the Council at planning inquiries and hearings
Working collaboratively with other teams and services to achieve positive outcomes
You will be part of a dedicated team of
professionals, working together to deliver excellent services to
our local community.
The ideal candidate will possess the
following skills and attributes:
Qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive with relevant legal qualifications
Experience in providing legal advice on planning and environmental law
Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and case law
Strong drafting and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team player with a collaborative approach to working
