We're looking for a well-organised, people-focused
L&D, Talent & Early Careers Coordinator
to join our HR team in Duxford. This is a varied role where you'll play a key part in keeping things running smoothly across our learning, recruitment and early careers activity.
You'll be involved in everything from scheduling training and managing inboxes, to supporting interviews and coordinating apprentice programmes. Whether it's helping new starters settle in, organising learning events or liaising with external providers, your work will help shape how we attract, develop and support talent across SMT GB.
If you enjoy being at the centre of a busy team, have a keen eye for detail, and like seeing the impact of your work on real people's careers, we'd love to hear from you.
This role is based from our Duxford Office 4 days per week with an agreed work from home day.
What you'll be doing:
You'll be the link between our L&D, recruitment and early careers activity--coordinating training, events, recruitment processes and learning systems across SMT GB. This includes:
Learning & Development
Set up and manage courses across multiple LMS platforms (e.g., Workday, Veida, Navigator)
Coordinate internal and external training - booking venues, trainers, machines, equipment and more
Track attendance, manage cancellations and support hotel/travel bookings for engineers
Liaise with external training providers and manage cost trackers and training reports
Handle the SMT Academy and Veida inboxes, support assessments and track feedback
Schedule site card tests (CSCS, MPQC) and support safety training with our H&S Manager
Recruitment
Support the Talent Acquisition Partner with end-to-end recruitment
Post job adverts, schedule interviews and communicate with candidates
Help onboard new starters and keep recruitment trackers up to date
Maintain a great candidate experience throughout and support agency comms when needed
Early Careers
Help coordinate apprenticeship block weeks alongside our Technical Training Manager
Administer CITB funding processes for apprentice accommodation and travel
Liaise with colleges and training providers to track apprentice and graduate progress
Support with outreach events, school visits, work experience, taster days, and apprentice celebrations
You'll also support inbox management, respond to internal queries, help implement process improvements, and provide cover for colleagues during absence or leave.
Requirements
What you'll bring:
Strong administration experience, ideally in HR, recruitment, or L&D
A genuine interest in talent, learning and people development
Excellent coordination, time management, and attention to detail
Confident communication and great people skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
It's a bonus if you also have:
Experience with systems like an ATS, LMS or HRIS
An understanding of recruitment or early careers frameworks
A recognised, HR, L&D or Recruitment qualification, or working towards one.
