We're hiring a Lead Android Engineer to own the future of Opal on Android.

We launched the

first version of our Android app in Q4 2025

, bringing Opal's core features to millions of new users. Now, we're looking for a strong technical leader to

shape v2 of the app, define the roadmap, and build the Android team around it

. You'll also work closely with our iOS team to ensure a seamless experience across platforms.

What you'll do

As Lead Android Engineer, you'll take a

hands-on role

while shaping the future of Opal on Android:

Build & Improve:

Evolve the newly released Android app with new features, better UX, and stronger performance.

Own the Architecture:

Define and refine the tech stack, best practices, and scalable systems.

Cross-Platform Collaboration:

Work closely with our iOS engineers to ensure consistency across platforms.

User-Centric Innovation:

Use feedback and data to prioritize features and improve the Android experience.

Quality & Reliability:

Maintain high standards of usability, security, and efficiency.

Mentor & Lead:

Share expertise and lay the foundation for a future Android team.

What you bring

You've shipped high-quality Android apps with Kotlin & Jetpack Compose. You can own a product end-to-end: architecture, features, performance, and quality. You collaborate well across platforms and teams. You enjoy mentoring and building a team from scratch. Fluent in English (French is a plus, but not required). You're mission-driven and excited to help millions reclaim their focus. Bonus: Firebase, cloud messaging, GraphQL, or AI experience).
