In a highly automated domain, the Baggage Architect is responsible for designing and maintaining the technical architecture, policies, and roadmaps for baggage systems, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals, regulatory standards, and Heathrow guidelines. They provide expert oversight on solution designs, support innovation, and act as a key technical advisor across projects, suppliers, and operational teams to ensure seamless and cost-effective baggage operations.


In a highly visible environment, the Airfield Architect is responsible for developing and overseeing the technical architecture and strategic roadmaps for airfield systems, ensuring alignment with Heathrow's operational goals, safety regulations, and industry standards. They provide expert guidance on solution design, support innovation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure resilient, compliant, and future-ready airfield infrastructure.



Develop and maintain policies, architectures, frameworks, roadmaps, and technical standards for Business domain that deliver the strategic Technology goals, business priorities and comply with HAL's technical and industry/regulatory standards Provide solution/technology design oversight, design quality, assurance, and advice to ensure compliance of projects and programmes (and services) to architectural standards and roadmaps, resolving or escalating potential non-compliance issues Developing innovative, cohesive solution architectures that align with business priorities and ensure cost-effective delivery and operational performance. Ensuring technical integrity and knowledge of products and solutions is effectively transitioned into BAU and support functions. Providing strategic technology insight by assessing industry trends, contributing to long-term planning, and supporting investment cases and portfolio development. Offering expert technical advisory and consulting support to business units, innovation teams, projects, and third-party providers.

Developing large-scale, pragmatic, and business-focused solutions to address critical organisational challenges. Defining architectural direction and leveraging innovation to deliver tangible business value. Building, maintaining, and influencing strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Acting as the design authority across major programmes or complex project portfolios. Making sound, strategic decisions when working with major outsourced service providers.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
