Job Purpose: The Business Analysis (BA) Lead is responsible for assisting in the Continuous Improvement of the BA Community of Practice ensuring the community is effective. The Lead BA will provide professional support, development, and lead on increasing maturity of the discipline. Looking also at the associated standardised delivery artefacts, and ensuring alignment with functional standards. The BA Lead will work with the Practice Leads to analyse current processes , looking for improvements and delivering new ways of working built on best practice and industry methodologies. They will identify capability needs, within the community, and support with upskilling across the BA cohort (including analysis, but also organisational development and design). The post holder may also be called upon to support BA delivery within a project/programme They will report directly to the Head of Change, in the Delivery workstream As a Lead Business Analyst your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the production of business analytics, including performance and productivity baselines, demand analysis, impact and feasibility analysis, scenario modeling, activity-based cost models and benefits tracking, working with colleagues where these activities meet specific specialisms, e.g. Benefits Manager
  • Lead, mentor, coach and develop our team of Business Analysts and Change and Business Improvement Analysts. Helping to identity capability needs and support with upskilling the BA community.
  • Drive the development of BA artefacts, required as part of successful project delivery, ensuring alignment with best practices, industry standard tools and techniques and HSE Delivery and Change Frameworks, to deliver and cohesive and comprehensive artefacts suite.
  • Support and contribute to the BA elements of the functional standards action plan to enable successful delivery of projects/programmes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues (e.g. operational teams, policy colleagues, digital programmes, customer insight, technology, etc.) and engage their specialisms in new ways of working, services and functions, which are efficient, effective and user focussed to deliver predictable and repeatable value.
  • Define operational pilots, test scenarios etc. Analyse and report on test/pilot outcomes and results, adjusting proposed solutions as appropriate
  • Build and manage productive and effective relationships with all stakeholders, from senior level, Executive Committee members, through to the End Users, who are the most impacted by the changes.
  • Regular progress updates/reports to both Head of Change and Community of practice, ensuring a clear understanding and buy in to the work undertaken
You\xe2\x80\x99ll have:
  • Recognised professional qualification in Business Analysis
  • Proven track record in translating business requirements between End Users and the team delivering the change
  • Practical knowledge of structured and analytical thinking, with the ability to interpret data and insights into improved processes and workflows.
  • Proven track record of delivering service/performance improvements, efficiencies, and enhanced user experiences.
  • Demonstrable experience of the principles of operational excellence and how to ensure new services and ways of working are successfully implemented and embedded.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring junior team members as part of improving skills and knowledge, resulting in consistency of standards and outputs.
  • Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Desirable criteria:
  • Experience of working with data structures and an understanding of data mapping and data architecture.
  • Experience of working within a regulatory or similarly complex environment.
  • Experience of managing service delivery in an operational/transactional environment
