Lead Carpenter - Film, TV & Live Events

We're Get Setsy a fast-growing creative build company specialising in film, TV, and live event set construction and design. From cinematic worlds to immersive brand experiences, we design, build, and deliver sets that turn ideas into reality and we're looking for a Lead Carpenter to help with our ever growing client demand.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead to oversee various construction projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fabrication, and assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. The Lead will be responsible for guiding a team, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and maintaining quality throughout all phases of construction.

What You'll Be Doing

Leading our talented carpentry team on film, TV, and live event set builds - from workshop fabrication to on-site installation.

Reading and interpreting detailed drawings and translating creative concepts into exceptional finished pieces.

Ensuring high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency across all projects.

Collaborating with designers, project managers, and scenic teams to bring ambitious ideas to life.

Mentoring junior carpenters and fostering a positive, solution-focused workshop culture.

Conduct heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently as part of project requirements.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations

Good at estimating material and time needed to fulfil projects

What We're Looking For

Proven background in high-level joinery and set construction for film, TV, or live events.

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively

Confident reading and understanding technical drawings.

A full, clean driving licence and a proactive, can-do attitude.

Ideally based near our Virginia Water workshop.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the construction industry is essential.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site efficiently.

Calm under pressure, flexible and collaborative Solutions-focused / "figure it out" mindset

Professional around clients and on set

Ability to troubleshoot surprises without slowing the schedule

Confident leading a small carpentry crew or being the senior craftsperson on a job

Comfortable with fast-turnaround builds and last-minute design changes

Bonus Points If You Can:

Operate and program a CNC machine.

Produce your own drawings using SketchUp or similar CAD software.

Have tickets for various extras like iPaf, WAH, first aid etc.
