As the Construction Lead on the harbour contract you will be responsible for supporting construction readiness activities and personnel mobilisation, as well as being a key contributor for support to planning and executing scopes offshore. Crucial to this is to support and ensure collaboration with discipline managers and interfaces with other departments. Support estimating and development of robust project estimates. As part of the specific requirements



Assure the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget. You will use client and in-house construction management procedures, provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable controls.



Also responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project. You will manage and control construction cost and schedule of offshore construction, managing installation, commissioning and completions activities.



Responsibilities



Accountable for managing, supervising, organising and co-ordinating site construction teams to provide high quality support in accordance with the Contract Works with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum Offshore mobilisations for key surveys (e.g. shutdown readiness) and where required construction support during key scopes and shutdowns

Constructability



Executing assigned scopes of work in a timely manner and within Key Performance Indicator (KPI) schedules Responsible for execution of the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project Managing and leading all construction reports to ensure delivery against milestones and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) Reviewing planned activities for constructability, providing accurate feedback and direction Providing technical expertise and guidance on all construction related activities Performance reporting to senior management, ability to monitor work progress and report against the plan Set and apply strategic and tactical direction regarding policy/procedures, work force staffing, and budgeting Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, site accommodation and other project-specific requirements, in accordance with client/contract specifications and in accordance with applicable Policies & Procedures Ensure all employees within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required Manages and controls project cost and schedule of assigned discipline / subset of on-site construction Utilise Commercial processes to manage change and capture variations effectively Accountable for the overall contract construction effort and support commissioning strategy; including safety, planning, cost and delivery of all field works on the contract.

Qualifications:



Typically, minimum qualified to ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma) or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience Vocational Qualification such as NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management an advantage A recognised HSE qualification is desirable (IOSH or similar) Upto date Offshore Medical and BOSIET

Knowledge, skills and experience:



Appropriate level of field construction experience, typically gained through extensive post-qualification experience in a relevant industry. Demonstrable experience in the management of multi disciplined projects in the pharmaceutical, batch chemical production or other relevant industries is preferred Excellent communications skills Strong effective delegation skills Exposure and familiar with working within a technical environment. Demonstrable experience of conducting Constructability and Construction Readiness Reviews. Experience of people management in a construction context. Good standard of general computer literacy includes MS office suite. Some experience with Completions Management Systems and processes through to completion and handover.
