As part of this role, you'll be responsible for planning, development, implementation and financial oversight for all construction projects within the UK. You'll be developing and maintaining the highest standards of excellence in delivering the Starbucks experience in our stores. As the lead construction project manager you'll lead the construction team in shaping the processes to ensure all projects are completed effectively, efficiently, in budget and in line with our brand standards and guidelines.
We'll look to you to bring your proven experience of leadership skills in a fast-paced, multisite retail or hospitality business. Your proven experience in project management ideally in a company owned and franchise environment is key for this role. It's critical you have an understanding and knowledge of the latest CM regulations with experience in technical requirements and strong commercial acumen. Ideally, you'll have a degree (or equivalent) in a construction related discipline or HNC level in construction.
The best part about this role is that no two days are ever the same! Working as our lead construction project manager, you'll get involved in:
Leading construction and supporting the operational goals through our planning and strategy meetings for the markets, ensuring we follow the right governance structures for all new projects. Leading and outlining the construction processes and practices to ensure that programmes are aligned with company business goals and objectives
Driving Innovation to reduce building and operating costs and improve overall efficiency
Managing and monitoring effective project costs within budget guidelines. Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and to a high standard, making sure that we're communicating project status to all key stakeholders accurately and on time.
Owning the permitting and approval phase of the development process and ensuring all correct approvals have been received prior to initiating possession or construction phase
When delivering the construction phase, you'll be involved in liaising with the wider team to take possession from landlords/developers, taking ownership for the General Contractor's and supplier performance during the construction phase, overseeing ordering and tracking of materials and equipment.
Ensuring all projects being delivered in compliance with current Building Regulations and CDM requirements. Including further areas such as Asbestos, Structural Requirements and DDA
Supporting the LEED project team by tracking and submitting all construction-allocated LEED documents within the timeline provided
Ensuring the support centre is legally compliant with HSE statutory requirements
