We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead cook to oversee culinary operations within our establishment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising kitchen activities, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and leading a team of kitchen staff. Responsibilities
Supervise daily food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring adherence to recipes and presentation standards
Oversee meal preparation processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Coordinate with kitchen staff to optimise workflow and efficiency during service periods
Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen team members, promoting skill development
Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations
Support the management team in implementing new menu items or operational procedures as required
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal presentation standards
Familiarity with food safety protocols and hygiene standards within a professional kitchen setting
Previous restaurant experience, including serving or front-of-house duties, is advantageous
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead a team effectively under pressure
