Based within a busy corporate banking environment, the Lead Day Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring all on-site equipment operates at peak performance.
This role offers exposure to a dynamic environment, with ongoing training, mentoring, and genuine progression opportunities.
With a strong electrical bias, you will be responsible for conducting essential repairs, proactively reporting faults, and managing issues to resolution—helping to guarantee maximum resilience for critical data equipment, including continuous power and cooling to data halls.
In addition to your technical duties, you will oversee external contractors when required, ensuring all work complies with statutory regulations and adheres to both site and ISS processes.
You'll also play a key part in mentoring onsite team members, sharing knowledge and supporting their development.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain engineering standards to ensure reliable operation of Plant and M&E systems
Respond efficiently to M&E maintenance issues and help desk requests
Manage and action all client help desk calls
Ensure use of Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all maintenance tasks
Attend call outs and handle M&E breakdowns and emergencies
Diagnose and repair faults in M&E systems and controls
Supervise contractors to ensure statutory and site compliance
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Fully qualified Electrical Maintenance Engineer with 18th Edition certification
Holds City & Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (2230, 2330, 2356, or 2357) or AM1/AM2
Experienced in building maintenance and FM environments, with team leadership preferred
Working knowledge of UPS systems and L8 compliance (preferred)
Proficient with FCUs, critical alarms, BMS systems, and emergency lighting systems
