Lead Dental Nurse/receptionist

Job Description

Community Dental Services are looking to recruit a Lead Dental Nurse to work at their dental clinic based in Morrill Street Health Centre. The successful candidate will support the Practice Manager with the day to day running of the clinic and assist Dental Clinicians with the provision of dental treatment supporting patients referred into the service who are unable to accept dental treatment within a general dental practice environment.



The applicant will be well organised and have the necessary dental nurse skills and knowledge to work in a clinical environment, supporting dental clinicians with complex dental treatments whilst supporting the patient and keeping them and/or their appropriate adult involved in treatment options.



The applicant will also support the Practice Manager with the day to day running of the clinic ensuring all policies and procedures are followed by staff. They will take a lead role in the ordering and maintaining appropriate stock levels and ensure daily/weekly checks are completed of all emergency equipment and any faults escalated. Additionally, they'll ensure rigorous IP&C guidelines are adhered to in line with HTM01-05 and file all appropriate paperwork to support this. When necessary, they will provide support to the reception and balance payments daily. If qualified in Dental Radiography and/or Dental Sedation these skills would be utilised throughout the clinic when support in that area is required.



T he ideal candidate will work well under pressure and have excellent written and verbal communication and IT skills and be a great team player who enjoys communicating well with patients and the dental team.
