Lead Designer Weddings & Experiences

West Bromwich, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Job Summary

The Lead Designer is a pivotal role within Matharu's, working directly alongside the Founder to shape, elevate, and scale the design arm of the business. This role is for someone who is deeply passionate about design, experience, and storytelling, and who is ready to step into a position of creative leadership. You will be responsible for leading signature wedding designs, contributing to sales conversations, and ensuring every client journey reflects Matharu's vision and standards. This is an opportunity-led role for someone eager to grow with the business and help turn creative vision into operational excellence and revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the creative direction for wedding and event designs in alignment with Matharu's signature style and vision.

Create compelling design concepts, vision boards, and proposals that excite clients and convert enquiries into bookings.

Work closely with the Founder on client meetings, pitches, and presentations, supporting both creative and commercial outcomes.

Translate client briefs into cohesive, practical, and high-impact designs that can be delivered efficiently.

Oversee design workflows from concept through to execution, ensuring clarity for production and operations teams.

Contribute to sales by confidently discussing design ideas, upgrades, and added-value opportunities with clients.

Support the growth of the wedding design division from both an operational and revenue perspective.

Develop and refine signature design packages that can be scaled and repeated without compromising creativity.

Ensure all designs are cost-aware, time-efficient, and aligned with profitability targets.
Uphold exceptional standards of customer experience throughout the design and planning journey.

Mindset & Attributes

This role requires someone who is highly driven, proactive, and emotionally invested in the growth of the business. You should be comfortable taking ownership, thinking commercially, and balancing creativity with structure. You are someone who sees opportunity, enjoys responsibility, and wants to build something meaningful rather than simply execute tasks.

Working Pattern

Flexible working pattern aligned to client meetings, design deadlines, and event schedules. Weekend availability may be required during peak wedding season.

This role is ideal for a designer who wants more than a job -- someone seeking mentorship, growth, and the opportunity to help shape and scale a luxury wedding brand from the inside.
