We're excited to offer a unique opportunity to join the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service in Somerset. This role is based on the paediatric ward at Yeovil District Hospital, where you'll play a key part in supporting young people facing acute physical challenges. You'll also work closely with our dedicated community team, who provide specialist assessment and treatment for young people diagnosed with or presenting with an eating disorder.
In this role, you'll collaborate with young people, their families, and wider support networks, offering personalised care through evidence-based interventions, psychoeducation, and tailored support. Your work will be instrumental in helping young people on their recovery journey, making a tangible difference to their well-being.
Main duties, tasks & skills required

Providing nurse-led assessments and interventions within an acute paediatric ward and Paediatric Assessment Unit.
Offering community-based support post-discharge to aid recovery and help prevent hospital admissions.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering a high standard of care to children and adolescents with eating disorders and their families.
Providing clinical supervision and professional support to colleagues.
Contributing to research, audits, and service development to enhance patient care.
Delivering training, advice, and consultation to professionals across Somerset.
Working autonomously, while collaborating closely with CAMHS and Paediatric services.

Job description

Have the ability to analyse the functions of challenging behaviours in complex situations within the individuals varying environments, in order to make recommendations where appropriate to inform future interventions.
Lead on formative assessments, analyse and formulate needs
Provide high-quality clinical reports
Take part in the on-going evaluation of the post and advice / consultation model of service delivery
Participate in clinical or administrative audits as required
