We have an opportunity for a Lead Engineer - CFD Methods to join the team at our Silverstone facility. In this role, you will lead a group of multi-disciplined engineers responsible for delivering the required CFD capability for the team's Aerodynamics department, through improvement to existing capabilities or the development of new methodologies. Provide technical leadership and manage the CFD Methods group, ensuring methodologies are accurate, efficient, reliable, and aligned with aerodynamic development needs Collaborate with aerodynamicists, CFD specialists, software engineers, and the correlation group to optimise CFD processes, ensure tool capability matches simulation requirements, and integrate experimental data from wind tunnel and track testing Define and maintain best practices for meshing, turbulence modeling, solver settings, and the selection and use of CFD software packages Oversee the development, optimization, maintenance, and support of new and existing toolkits across all CFD disciplines, including process, external/internal flows, thermal modeling, and pipeline development Conduct research into emerging CFD technologies to enhance predictive capability and maintain a competitive edge

What do you need to bring to the team?

Strong knowledge of fluid physics, numerical methods, and turbulence modeling, with experience using STAR-CCM+ and open-source CFD codes Proficiency in programming (C++, Python, Java, or VBA) and strong IT skills, including MS Office Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and inspire a multidisciplinary team Clear, concise communication skills - both verbal and written - to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels Highly organized, accurate, and able to deliver results to tight deadlines while contributing positively to an open, inclusive culture Commitment to continuous learning, with a drive to research and apply the latest CFD and engineering innovations
