Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our dynamic team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in assessing project costs and providing accurate estimates to ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labour costs, along with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Job Responsbilities:



With a primary focus on supporting the business function, key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Estimating work value from site visits, architectural drawings, and specifications. Producing and maintaining a cost information database for cost planning. Obtaining budget quotations and guide prices for specialist work. Assisting the small works team when required, alongside residential construction projects. Performing take-offs from architectural drawings, both manually and electronically, to measure dimensions for roads, sewers, foundations, and external works. Applying knowledge of construction techniques and materials. Using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) proficiently. Researching costs of materials, transport, labour, and equipment. Establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, sub-contractors, and suppliers. Sourcing and obtaining quotations from suppliers and specialist sub-contractors within deadlines. Preparing and submitting quotations and cost analysis for review by the Managing Estimator. Interpreting architectural and engineering plans and reports accurately. Attending tender review meetings with clients and presenting bids. Providing guidance to Assistant Estimators/Estimators within the team.

Qualifications

:

Essential - GCSE Grades: A to C or 5/6 to 9 in Maths, English and ICT. Desirable - recognised Civils / Engineering / Construction qualification, HNC / HND or higher, however training can be offered to the successful candidate.

Remuneration Package

(Subject to Candidate Experience)

Full-Time Position

- 41.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday).

Salary

- 55,000 - 65,000 per annum, depending on experience.

- 25 days plus Bank Holidays.
