The Sands Centre in Carlisle, Cumbria is looking for a Lead Gymnastics Coach to be responsible for delivering and developing all gymnastics programmes. Our 'Better Gymnastics' programme is designed to challenge and give participants the opportunity to be the best they can be. Across GLL, there are over 10,000 participants in gymnastics covering all age groups and abilities, from toddlers to adults and recreational level to elite performance, so the variety of deliverable programmes can be vast.





You'll have a real passion for gymnastics that will shine through as you manage and motivate your team of coaches to develop a quality, structured and balanced programme for them to follow. You'll understand the needs of gymnasts and their abilities, helping you to create an environment that enables each and every one of them to reach their potential through safe, organised and progressive training sessions. You'll plan competition entries and physically and mentally prepare gymnast for competition. In turn, you'll also be able to understand and operate the business aspect of gymnastics in terms of staff development, reposting and administration, whilst achieving financial performance and sales targets.





As an experienced gymnastics coach, you'll be qualified to Level 2 or 3. You'll thrive on seeing others develop and as your courses and lessons will be your own to lead and plan, you'll influence their success and growth. Ensuring the lessons are enjoyable, you'll be able to think on your feet and be creative with the facilities around you, still making sure that your pupils are constantly observed and kept safe. Due to our size and scale, there will be plenty of hours available for you to coach and the bigger our courses get, the more opportunity there will be to further develop your career with us. What you need:

A can-do attitude A real focus on customer service. Passion and personality Knowledge of health and safety Be a great team player Qualified at Level 1, 2 or 3. However training can be given for those that would like to become gymnastics coaches.

What you'll do:

Deliver first-class customer service Deal with customer queries Teach high quality gymnastics at a variety of levels Deliver lessons that are safe, fun and progressive Safe coaching and supporting skills Complete registers and assessments of participants using GLL IPods Completing or assisting with equipment set ups Completing or assisting with warm ups and cool downs Assisting with the assessment process (award scheme and skills matrix) Providing parental feedback where required Level 1 coaches aged 18+ may be responsible for the overall delivery of lessons and courses Supervising and cleaning the Sports Hall and Storage areas Setting up equipment
