The new centralised Audience Insights team purpose is to be independent thought leaders at the heart of Channel 4's creative and commercial decision-making, bringing a single source of truth and big picture perspective, challenging and advising the business to ensure profitable business growth through the use of data.
The Insight Business Partner Team works with Exec & C-Suite members to prioritise and agree their insight requirements in line with the strategic Channel 4 pillars. Streaming & Social Insight is one of these 4 pillars within the overall BP Team, working with the Streaming Business Director and their Senior Leaders to deliver specialist insight in the streaming & social space, and working closely with the other BP pillars to drive overall audience understanding & impact.
The BP Team work together with the Insight Specialists (research, data analytics, reporting & data enablement) to get the best answer to the business challenges. These teams are experts in their areas & strive to deliver best practise across the organisation.
Job Purpose
Working under the direction of the Head of Insight Business Partnering, this role leads the delivery of strategic, high-impact audience insights to senior business leaders, influencing decision-making and driving performance. It combines leadership, stakeholder management, and expert analytical oversight to ensure insights are aligned with business priorities and capacity.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Manage high-level relationships with senior business leaders, negotiating and prioritizing an agreed portfolio of insight deliverables aligned to business strategy
Partner closely with Product and Streaming leads to shape digital transformation efforts, defining new KPIs and success metrics that reflect changing customer behaviour and platform evolution.
Lead strategic projects, ensuring work is well-briefed, efficiently delivered, and aligned to stakeholder needs -- with a focus on quality, clarity, and continuous process improvement.
Oversee the development of compelling, decision-ready insights using in-house data and, where needed, specialist or commissioned research. Translate complex data into actionable narratives that challenge and guide business decisions.
Embed proactive, data-driven insights across the business by anticipating trends, aligning past learnings with current priorities, and ensuring insight consistently informs key decision-making forums and reporting outputs.
Lead the development and delivery of trading performance insights to inform timely decision-making and drive commercial outcomes across key business areas.
Support the development and embedding of the Audience Insight strategy across the team and stakeholder groups, ensuring clarity on scope, planning processes, and how priorities are agreed and delivered.
Drive the operationalisation of the Audience Insight strategy -- including developing annual roadmaps, agreeing strategic priorities and budgets with stakeholders, and ensuring workload is planned and prioritised in line with business needs and capacity.
Line manage a team of 4 Business Partners, building capability, coaching on new specialisms (e.g., Streaming, Product, Social), and fostering a high-performing, insight-led culture.
Coordinate with Business Partners, Analysts, and Specialist teams (Product, Social, etc.) to manage capacity, workstack alignment, and deliver integrated support to business leaders.
Represent Audience Insight on pillar Steering Committees, contributing to strategic direction and linking insights to financial and performance outcomes

Role is potential succession for Head of Insight Business Partnering or one of the 4 Head of Specialism roles (if sufficient level of expertise in that technical area), and horizontal technical development move to one of the roles in Specialist teams.
Accountable for 4 Business Partners as direct reports.
No other financial budget accountability
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Insight Capability: Proven track record across research, analytics, and reporting, with strong knowledge of how different insight disciplines support effective business decisions.
Business Understanding: Solid grasp of the industry landscape, competitor activity, market dynamics, financial pressures, and strategic challenges, particularly around digital transformation. Strong contextual understanding of business goals across all Executive functions.
Streaming & Product Transformation: Direct experience supporting digital product transformation, including defining new performance metrics and KPIs to reflect evolving customer behaviours and platform dynamics.
Social Media Insight: Experienced in leading social media insight work, turning fast-moving online data into clear, actionable guidance for brand, marketing, and business teams; skilled in using social listening tools, identifying trends, and understanding platform-specific audience behaviour
Trading Insight & Performance: Strong commercial acumen with experience managing trading insights that directly inform and optimise business performance.
Gravitas & Confidence: Trusted advisor to C-suite and senior leaders, with the emotional intelligence, presence, and resilience to challenge, influence, and engage at the highest levels.
Influencing & Storytelling: Skilled in translating complex data into clear, impactful insight and persuasive recommendations that shape strategy and drive performance.
Collaboration: Strong ability to foster collaboration across teams and functions to deliver aligned, high-impact insight.
Negotiation: Confident negotiator able to align stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and secure agreement on priorities and deliverables.
Innovation Mindset: Active interest in evolving insight tools, methods, and thinking to enhance strategic value and relevance.
People Management: Experienced in leading and developing teams to deliver high-quality, insight-driven outputs for senior stakeholders.
Project Management: Skilled in managing both internal and external teams (including research agencies), ensuring delivery to brief, on time and to a high standard.
Basic salary per annum starting from
84,000.00

Hybrid working
From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
