At Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR), we design and build some of the most technically advanced electrical rotating machinery in the world. We specialise in manufacturing large electrical rotating machinery: Motors and Generators, across a wide variety of industrial applications. Our motors are powering some of the most advance warships in the world, whilst our generators are decarbonising industry for a more sustainable future. The Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Team is a part of the RMR Engineering Department and consists of a team of Manufacturing Engineers, responsible for development and implementation of new innovative manufacturing technologies.
We drive improvements to execution, efficiency, and cost reduction through the continual implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques and innovative ideas- a key part of the scope of work. We also ensure all the prior preparations are in place so that new projects can be manufactured as efficiently as possible.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Leader, the Lead Manufacturing Readiness Engineer is a key part of driving manufacturing technology initiatives across the Manufacturing Readiness Team and the various manufacturing process areas to realise real world improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. They coach, drive and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools across operational or functional areas. Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics.
