We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Maths Tutor to join our team and play a key role in shaping the success of our students. This is a remote role with all learning sessions taking place online.
Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, group Maths tutoring to students following the Scottish curriculum (from Primary 7 through to Advanced Higher, and everything in-between).
Develop and adapt teaching materials and strategies to cater to individual learning styles and abilities.
Effectively support students with specific learning differences, including dyscalculia, dyslexia, ADD, and other learning challenges, implementing appropriate strategies and resources.
Integrate and promote effective study skills within tutoring sessions, helping students develop organisation, time management, and independent learning techniques in line with company teaching structures throughout the academic year.
Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians where required.
Contribute to the development of best practices and resources within the tutoring team.
Potentially mentor and support other tutors as the business grows.
Essential Requirements:
Significant, demonstrable teaching experience with the Scottish Mathematics syllabus.
Proven experience working effectively with children and young people who have dyscalculia, dyslexia, ADD, and other learning differences.
A strong understanding of different aspects of study skills and the ability to integrate these into Maths tuition.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents and other members of the team.
A genuine passion for Mathematics and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
A relevant degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
PVG scheme membership (or willingness to obtain one).
Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Requirements:
Experience tutoring students across a range of levels within the Scottish curriculum.
Familiarity with online tutoring platforms.
Experience in curriculum development or resource creation.
Hours
Initially, 5 hours per week, with the potential for increased hours as the business grows. Flexible scheduling is possible, with sessions typically taking place in the evenings. This is a remote role with the potential for some travel to our main office in North Ayrshire, when required.
