Priory Hospital Roehampton is looking to recruit a Lead Medical Secretary to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role.



Priory Hospital Roehampton, a registered hospital in London, is a welcoming and highly respected rehab facility, offering expert mental health and addiction treatment. We support people facing a wide range of mental health challenges, providing specialist care for depression, anxiety and addictions. Our team offers tailored treatment for substance addictions, including alcohol, cocaine and heroin, as well as behavioural addictions like gambling. We also provide outpatient support for adults with eating disorders.


For young people, we have a dedicated young people's mental health inpatient service across two specialist wards - Richmond Court and Kingston Court - where we provide expert care in a supportive environment.

What you'll be doing





You'll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn't involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether you're assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here.Manage and develop a team of medical secretaries. Ensure revenues and billing processes are followed and monies collected. Manage and oversee Subject Access Requests for the hospital. Monitor referrals, appointments and debt collection, addressing any blocks and escalating when appropriate.

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will possess excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills, with the ability to audio-type accurately and efficiently. An understanding of medical terminology is essential, along with a passion for providing a high-quality service to the hospital. Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively are key, as well as a keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy. The role requires a team-oriented individual who upholds a high level of confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of their work. Candidates should have experience in an administrative, customer service, clinical, or similar setting, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within a team to ensure the smooth running of the department. While the role involves working within established procedures and processes, there will be occasions that call for adaptive thinking, particularly when engaging with patients and their families.
