creates a warm, welcoming environment for both patients and practitioners. Looking ahead to late 2025 (Q4), we'll further elevate our service with
, demonstrating our commitment to providing innovative, comprehensive care of the highest quality.
Job Overview
We are seeking a
Lead Physiotherapist (MSK)
to head our musculoskeletal services at the new clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic physiotherapist to
lead and shape an MSK service
from the ground up. You will play a key role in developing our integrated care model, combining traditional evidence-based physiotherapy with structured therapeutic massage techniques in a thoughtful way. The ideal candidate will be an experienced clinician with strong MSK expertise,
ultrasound imaging skills
, and a passion for innovation in patient care. You should be comfortable taking on both clinical and leadership responsibilities - delivering excellent hands-on patient care while also mentoring others and driving service development. If you are enthusiastic about collaborative practice, cultural inclusivity, and delivering outstanding outcomes for patients, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership:
Lead the MSK physiotherapy service, setting high standards for quality and safety. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior therapists or massage practitioners, fostering a supportive and learning-focused team culture.
Patient Care:
Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatments for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Develop personalised rehabilitation plans that blend conventional physiotherapy (exercise therapy, manual therapy, education) with our clinic's specialised therapeutic massage techniques for holistic patient care.
Integrated Practice Development:
Work closely with the Clinic Director and team to build and refine our integrated care model. Champion the thoughtful integration of evidence-based UK physiotherapy approaches with proven Korean manual therapy methods (e.g. deep tissue massage for pain relief), ensuring treatments are both effective and culturally sensitive.
Diagnostic Ultrasound:
Utilize musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging for diagnostic and clinical decision-making (especially once our new ultrasound scanner is introduced in Q4 2025). Perform and interpret point-of-care ultrasound scans to aid in diagnosing muscle, tendon, ligament, and joint conditions, and incorporate findings into treatment plans.
Advanced Modalities:
If appropriately trained, perform or support advanced treatment modalities offered at the clinic - for example, administering injection therapy (for those qualified), and delivering focused or radial shockwave therapy for relevant conditions. Collaborate with other healthcare providers when needed for interventions outside your scope (e.g. referring for imaging or specialist consult).
Service Quality & Compliance:
Ensure all physiotherapy services meet regulatory and professional standards. Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation in line with HCPC and CQC requirements. Contribute to clinic policies, protocols, and quality improvement initiatives to continuously elevate patient care.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Coordinate with massage therapists and other team members to provide a seamless care experience. Engage in case discussions and joint sessions as appropriate, embracing a
team approach
to rehabilitation.
Community Engagement:
Help promote the clinic's MSK services within the local community (New Malden's diverse population) and build positive relationships with patients. Uphold a friendly, empathetic, and professional demeanour that reflects our clinic's values of respect, innovation, and cultural awareness.
Essential Requirements
HCPC Registration:
You must be a
HCPC-registered Physiotherapist
in good standing (Health & Care Professions Council).
CSP Membership:
Membership with the
Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
.
Physiotherapy Degree:
BSc (Hons) or MSc in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
MSK Experience:
Substantial post-qualification experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatient physiotherapy. You should be confident managing a broad MSK caseload independently, with excellent clinical reasoning skills and up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice.
Ultrasound Competency:
Proven ability to perform and interpret musculoskeletal ultrasound scans for diagnostic purposes. Applicants will be expected to provide evidence of ultrasound training/competency*, such as a postgraduate certificate in MSK Ultrasound, relevant CPD course certificates, case logbook, or a reference from a clinical supervisor confirming safe and effective use of ultrasound.
Leadership Skills:
Demonstrated leadership experience or clear potential to excel in a leadership role. (For example, experience as a senior or lead physio, mentoring students/juniors, or managing aspects of a service.) Able to take initiative, inspire colleagues, and lead by example in delivering high-quality care.
Cultural Awareness:
High level of cultural competency and
person-centred care
skills. Our patient base is multicultural (including a large Korean community), so you must be sensitive and adaptable to diverse cultural needs and communication styles. You should be able to make all patients feel welcome, heard, and respected.
Communication & Teamwork:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent in spoken and written English, with the ability to explain clinical information clearly to patients. Strong team player who works collaboratively with colleagues across different therapy disciplines.
Professionalism:
Strong organisational skills, reliability, and a commitment to continuous professional development. Familiarity with maintaining confidentiality, consent, and infection control standards in line with CQC and professional guidelines.
Preferred Requirements (Desirable)
Injection Therapy Qualification:
Formal certification or training in injection therapy (e.g. corticosteroid injections for MSK conditions). This role would benefit from an individual who can offer injection services or work alongside other providers to facilitate such treatments.
Shockwave Therapy Experience:
Hands-on experience administering
shockwave therapy
(both focused and radial) for conditions like tendinopathies or plantar fasciitis. Familiarity with shockwave protocols and safety is a plus, as our clinic features advanced shockwave equipment.
Independent Prescribing Rights:
HCPC-annotated Independent Prescriber status (or equivalent) is advantageous, allowing for prescribing of medications relevant to physiotherapy practice. This is not mandatory but would enhance the scope of services we can offer through you.
Additional Skills:
Any additional skills or qualifications that complement MSK practice (e.g. acupuncture/dry needling, Pilates instruction, ergonomic assessment, etc.) are welcome. Similarly, the ability to speak additional languages (especially Korean) is a bonus but
not required
.
Salary & Benefits

(around 3,500 per month).

on any monthly revenue you generate above 5,000
