Wood is recruiting for a Lead Planner to support across a portfolio of high-profile EPCm projects in the UK.
There is a requirement for hybrid working with three days in one of our Hub offices. As this position is mainly to support an Aberdeen based project the preference would be to be based out of our Aberdeen office. However, we will also consider applications from Glasgow, Stockton or Staines.
This is for a 12-month contract on a ltd co basis out with IR35.
Please note applicants must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Role
The Lead Planner will be accountable for the development of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy and accordance with contractual requirements and Wood policies, procedures, and standards.
As the Lead Planner you will be responsible for delivering an appropriately detailed and robust project schedule based on the Control Estimate and incorporating any agreed changes, preparing weekly short-term lookaheads for each discipline to ensure effective planning and execution.
Additionally, the position requires forecasting and trending using performance indicators to monitor progress and anticipate potential issues. Acting as the primary point of contact for all planning requirements, the role ensures clear communication and coordination across the project.
This is an ideal role for an experienced Lead Planner experienced in managing the Planning across a portfolio of brownfield EPCm projects.

Key Objectives for this role:
Production of Engineering Histograms and S-curves.
Production of periodic Progress Reports by discipline
Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules
Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
Lead and participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews
Acts as Planning focal point for specific project scopes
Review and maintain planning control structures are developed and maintained in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software
Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle
Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements
Analyse and issue copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements
Review and analyse updates to project plans and schedule as well as project manpower requirement
Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications
Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance
Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required

Expected:
Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)
Strong understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management
Significant prior experience in a senior planning role
Advanced knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, resource loading and levelling
Advanced knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling
Understands EPCm Cost Management
Capability to effectively manage planning across a Framework
Drive standardisation, consistency, best practice to achieve performance excellence
