At Ernulf Academy, we are looking for a Lead Practitioner of Geography to support the Head of Humanities in leading and developing our Geography provision. You will play a key role in shaping curriculum, improving pedagogy, and ensuring excellent outcomes across Key Stages 3 and 4. What We're Looking For
A highly effective and inspiring Geography teacher with a strong pedagogical understanding.
Experience in leading others and improving teaching and learning.
A commitment to inclusive, aspirational education for all students.
Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills.
A belief that all children can achieve, regardless of background or starting point.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Head of Humanities in leading the Geography department.
Develop and implement a well-sequenced, knowledge-rich curriculum.
Lead on high-quality teaching and learning strategies across the department.
Use coaching and feedback to improve classroom practice and student outcomes.
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing high-quality feedback and interventions.
Lead departmental quality assurance processes.
Contribute to the wider leadership of the academy as directed by the Principal.
