Job Description

We are seeking a

Lead QA Engineer

to play a pivotal role in ensuring quality across both

functional and automation streams

. This role requires strong technical testing expertise, leadership ability, and collaboration skills to guide a distributed QA team and deliver excellence in testing practices.

Role Overview

As QA Lead, you will:

Define and oversee the

QA strategy

for features and components. Lead and mentor a team of functional and automation testers. Collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and business analysts to validate acceptance criteria. Own

test planning, execution, and reporting

across multiple environments and platforms. Drive improvements in

functionality, design, and usability

of new products. Document and standardize

QA processes

for replication across projects. Serve as a consultant-minded leader, proposing innovations, guiding non-technical stakeholders, and promoting best practices.

Required Skills

6+ years of QA experience

with strong expertise in both manual and automation testing. Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written). Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail, debugging, and problem-solving abilities. Self-motivated with a

consulting mindset

- able to propose improvements and explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences. Ability to work with teams in

US time zones

(role suits late starters / non-early birds). Deep understanding of

SDLC, Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and QA processes

. Experience creating

end-to-end test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria

.

Functional Testing Expertise

Manual test case creation, execution, and

defect tracking

. Strong experience with

Azure DevOps

for test management and reporting. Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into

effective test scenarios

.

Automation Testing Expertise

Playwright.js

(mandatory) plus Cypress, Selenium, Appium, WebdriverIO. API testing with

Postman

and

Newman

. Familiarity with

CI/CD pipelines

(GitHub Actions, GitLab, Docker). Knowledge of

automation architecture

- reusable frameworks, page object models. Experience with programming and scripting:

C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, HTML, CSS

. Exposure to

prompt engineering for AI tools

(e.g., Cursor).

Azure DevOps

- Boards, Pipelines, Test Plans, Reporting.

GitHub / GitLab

- Version control and CI/CD integration.

Playwright, Cypress, Selenium

- UI and E2E test automation.

Postman/Newman

- API testing and automation.

JMeter, Blazemeter

- Performance testing.

NuGet, Detox.js, Maestro.js

- Specialized automation tools.

Responsibilities

Define and implement

QA strategy

for features and releases. Lead

test automation initiatives

, including framework design and script development. Manage

functional testing efforts

, ensuring coverage and traceability. Mentor testers and promote

best practices

across distributed QA teams. Coordinate with delivery managers, scrum masters, and technical leads to align QA with delivery timelines. Own

quality gates and sign-off processes

prior to releases. Ensure

are validated across all releases.
