Job Description

Claremont Fan Court School is seeking a proactive and experienced lead science technician to support the delivery of outstanding science education. With a specialism in chemistry, you will manage the preparation and safety of practical lessons and oversee day-to-day technician operations across the science department.

Key responsibilities of this role include preparing and managing resources and equipment for science practicals (KS3 to A level); overseeing chemical inventories, ordering and safe storage; conducting risk assessments; monitoring technician workflow and departmental expenditure and supporting staff and students with practical set ups and equipment use. Dependent on skills and experience there is also the option for line management responsibilities for the technicians.

The successful candidate will hold an NVQ level 2 in Laboratory Technical Skills or science degree, a strong chemistry background and experience in a school or lab setting. You will have excellent organisational, communication and IT skills and be calm, adaptable and efficient under pressure.
