We are looking for a dedicated
Lead Security Officer
to join our professional team and play a key role in safeguarding our operations
Join our professional security team as a Lead Security Officer (LSO), where your leadership and professionalism will be recognised. In this role, you'll oversee gatehouse operations, manage visitor and contractor access, conduct patrols and Level 1 security checks, and respond to emergencies. You'll also support safety initiatives, liaise with clients, and lead a team of officers. You will be expected to take the lead in the gate house as a shift leader. Strong communication, attention to detail, and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are essential. You'll report to the Site Security Supervisor (SSS), maintain action trackers and guard tour systems, and provide regular updates. Overtime is available, especially during holidays.

Monitor employee work levels and coach staff as and when required
Train, motivate and mentor security staff in your team.
Access Control - visitor and contractor management.
Apply basic report writing skills and monitor a range of internal communications.
Conduct basic investigations
Enforcing rules
Conducting physical patrols and electronic surveillance
Responding to alarms and emergencies until relieved.
Providing customer service and engaging in public relations.
Monitor and supervise systems found in the control room / gate house.
Program and de-program access cards.
Maintain all records of duties and actions completed on the Team database and keep the SSS informed.
You are expected to be familiar with all Site SOPs and policies and strictly adhere to it.
Retain a good Site knowledge in order to support day to day operations and emergency response activities.
Be a Team player, maintain a good working relationship with colleagues and stakeholders.
Monitor and supervise systems found in the control room.
Carry out similar duties of front-line security officers
Lead security staff and ensure company standards are complied within daily operations of the department, such as dress and deportment, public relations, etc.
Conduct investigations as directed or required.
Ensure all communiques from the SSM and client are being forwarded to the staff and that they are read and understood.
Ensure all new company policies and procedures are read and understood and followed.
Investigate and solve minor systems problems.
On a regular basis conduct frequent building tours, patrols and inspections of areas throughout facility.
To oversee and manage conflict situations, de-escalate and report accordingly within the workplace environment.
To assist with delivering team building activities
Qualifications
SIA licence
5+years security experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Computer skills: MS Office- Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word experience essential
Protection Officer Certificate required
Emotionally intelligent
Knowledge of electronic security systems including Electronic Access Control, VS, Building Fire Alarm systems, etc
Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent, with knowledge of the Criminal Code and local health & safety regulations - experience in a multi-tenant environment is preferred
Certificates in First Aid, CPR, AED, CPO/CSSM, CPTED Level 1 & 2, NVCI (or equivalent), de-escalation techniques, and customer service are an advantage
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a proactive approach to problem solving
Conflict De-escalation training preferred
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, etc, in a windows environment.
Ability to work under pressure
