Job Description

The Royal Devon and University Trust (Eastern Services) has a modern aseptic unit providing adult and paediatric chemotherapy, adult, paediatric and neonatal parenteral nutrition, clinical trials medication and a centralised intravenous additive service using isolator gassing technology.
The main purpose of the role is to organise, facilitate, deliver and support the training and development of various members of the pharmacy technical workforce, including but not limited to Pharmacy Technicians, Science Manufacturing Technicians (SMT), Science Manufacturing Process Operative (SMPO), pharmacy assistants, pre-registration pharmacists and work experience students. The post holder will also act as line manager for SMTs and SMPOs.

We are looking for an experienced aseptic Pharmacy Technician or Science Manufacturing Technician with vision and motivation to join our dynamic department support the current service we provide to our customers.
We are a busy aseptic unit and have a dedicated team of Technicians, Science Manufacturing Technicians and Assistant technical officers who deliver a fast response service working within Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing practice.
You will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated and committed to providing the highest quality of training. Creating and delivering training programs for aseptic manufacturing staff, including new starters and existing team members, ensuring training programs comply with regulatory requirements. You will need an ability to develop effective working relationships and to prioritise your own work. You will be required to be flexible, reliable and able to work on your own and within the team to support, develop our increasing workforce. You will work with our Lead Technician (Pharmacy) and Lead Pharmacist for Training & Education to ensure that technical services are included in the overall workforce development of the pharmacy department.
