Lead Tutor - Alternative Provision
Achievio is a Tuition and Education Centre based in Melksham offering an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to take a key leadership role in our business. We are seeking a qualified teacher with the knowledge, skills and ability to lead our Y9-Y11 alternative provision.
For alternative provision we offer academic tutoring alongside pastoral support. Most of our Y9-Y11 students are working towards GCSE with some focusing on Functional Skills. Most students study maths and English although we do offer other subjects where we have the staff expertise. We pride ourselves on offering high-quality provision and ensuring all our students make progress and are prepared for their next step in education.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of this area of the business which includes:
Providing an appropriate, supportive learning environment
Managing and providing supervision and guidance to staff assigned to the room
Overseeing the learning of all students, regardless of whether or not they are worked with directly, to ensure planning and delivery is supporting them to make progress
Ensuring the pastoral/SEMH needs of students are planned for and met in order for them to make progress in this area
Communicating clearly with commissioners, parents, staff, students and any other stakeholders
Actively participating in the senior management team at Achievio
Promoting the safeguarding of all students and following all Achievio policies and procedures
We would like to hear from you if you:
Are a qualified teacher with the ability to teach either English of maths to GCSE level
Have an up-to-date knowledge of GCSE requirements in your subject
Have experience of leadership
Have strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
Have experience of working with SEND students, including those with EHCPs, and can adapt your teaching to meet their individual needs
Are committed to supporting the whole child to achieve their potential
Are willing to undertake training as and when required
Are committed to safeguarding and promoting child welfare

Start Date: 1st January 2026, or sooner
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00-3:00 and Friday 9:00-2:00, term time only
Contract: Initially fixed term until July 2026 with the intention of continuing
