Eastcott Referrals are seeking a Lead Twilight RVN to join our friendly, close knit and well-established practice in Swindon, Wiltshire.

Eastcott Veterinary Hospital is an RCVS Accredited Multidisciplinary Referral Practice based in Swindon, Wiltshire, just off the M4. Our referral hospital is led by a team of Veterinary Specialists who provide an exceptionally high level of clinical and surgical veterinary care. The hospital is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities in all disciplines, and our team offers a warm welcome to referring vets, clients, and patients.

Your role and responsibilities




An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Twilight Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our out of hours team. This is an ideal chance for a keen individual to work in one of the UK's leading referral centres and develop both their leadership and clinical nursing skills.


The successful candidate will be working alongside our team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Surgeons and Patient Care Assistants to deliver gold standard veterinary care to our patients. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly driven individual who wants to take on the challenge of managing a rapidly growing out-of-hours service within our multidisciplinary referral and primary care hospital.


You will work closely with our Out of Hours Manager to help grow the service and continue to improve efficiency and patient care OOH.


Experience of working in a leadership role and/or nursing in a referral environment is desired but not required, as full support and training will be provided for successful candidates.


Main duties will include:

Line management of the night and twilight nurses and PCAs; including rota management, training, overseeing holiday and CPD requests, and absence management. Working closely with the senior leadership team to promote efficient ways of working and continued growth of the OOH service. Nursing a range of patients from both primary care and referral disciplines such as neurology, soft tissue, orthopaedics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry, and cardiology. Caring for patients within our purpose-built intensive care unit Working alongside our Specialist and primary veterinary surgeons Support the emergency out of hours (OOH) veterinary surgeons.

The ideal candidate will have experience in either a hospital or referral department (although this is not essential), have worked in a leadership role before, and be at least 1 year qualified.
