Hours:

Full-time 42 hours per week. 4-day week and 1 in 4 full weekends with time back in lieu.

Join Village Vet Hampstead as a Lead Vet and play a pivotal role in shaping outstanding veterinary care!




You'll be part of a passionate team committed to delivering the highest standards of service and outcomes for our patients and clients. In this leadership role, you'll line manage a team of 4 vets within a wider group of 12, including 2 fellow Lead Vets, a Clinical Director, and our dedicated night team.


This position offers a balanced mix of clinical and protected management time, allowing you to lead by example while supporting team development and practice performance. You'll champion clinical excellence, foster a collaborative and respectful culture, and ensure exceptional patient care through empathetic leadership.

Working hours

: Full-time across a 4-day week, including 1 in 4 full weekends. You'll have a fixed day off (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday), with some shifts finishing at 8pm.

Hampstead is a fantastically well-equipped 24hour hospital, you will have access to a CT scanner, full dental suite, fully kitted out ICU, endoscopy, ultrasound and much more. Specific areas of interests encouraged and supported; you will be working alongside certificate holders in Surgery, ECC, medicine, exotics and diagnostic imaging. Along with our primary care clinic, the Hampstead practice also receives internal and external surgical referrals and serves as the 24-hour emergency clinic for many North London vet practices. Additionally, Hampstead sees a very high emergency caseload and would be a great environment to develop an interest in this area. An imaging interest would also compliment this position very well. We have an experience dedicated night team on site, making this a day only position, with no nights or on call.

What we are looking for:



MRCVS minimum 5 years' experience and confidence in small animal general practice. Existing line management experience desirable Commercial understanding beneficial but support can be provided to help build experience in this area.
