Salary:

Up to 75,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Park Vet Group, Glenfield, Leicester

Job Type:

Permanent, full-time (flexible working patterns can be discussed)

Hours:

40 hours over 4-5 days with a 1:4 Saturday rota (8.30am-2pm and 1:15 Sunday (8am-7pm paid extra) no nights, we have a dedicated night team! Bank holidays on a rota (paid extra).

An exciting opportunity to join our Glenfield Tier 3 RCVS-accredited Hospital in Leicester in a Leadership role!



We are seeking a Lead Vet to line manage a wonderful team of 8 vets at our state of the art hospital in Leicester, with the support of a Practice Manager, and Clinical Director. The role will have a clinical focus, with 0.5 days per week admin time. The Park Vet Group is based in the wonderful city of Leicester which is the largest city in the East Midlands. We have excellent travel links, access to good schools and beautiful countryside. Leicester is a modern city steeped in years of history and there is lots to do locally whether you enjoy the great outdoors or prefer the hustle and bustle of the city.

This role is based entirely at the Glenfield Hospital, offering continuity. Work alongside certificate holders in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery and emergency critical care and we have dedicated 24-hour nursing and vet teams ensuring a great work-life balance. In-house CT, Dental suites equipped with dental X-ray, Video endoscopy, ASIF kit, TPLO/TTA/Tightrope, arthroscopy, and advanced ophthalmology equipment and we are proud to have Cat-Friendly Status across our practices and a Gold award for our Glenfield site. As a team, we often discuss clinical cases and have monthly team meetings to share knowledge and communications. We welcome supporting certificate studies for our associates, if you have a particular interest, you are welcome to discuss it with us! What we are looking for?



RCVS registration and a minimum of 5 years general practice experience

Existing line management experience is desirable but not essential, there is development support into leadership for the right person. A passion for leading and encouraging team development. GDP advisor or desire to become a GDP Advisor. Ability to perform routine neutering (cats and dogs of all sizes) without support - including FLANK cat spays Ability to perform abdominal ultrasound, TFAST and AFAST imaging without support Ability to perform exploratory laparotomies, splenectomies, GDVs, gastrotomy and enterotomy without support Confidence with routine consults in 15 minuets and routine dental cases.
