If you are ready to lead with clarity, compassion, and confidence, but your current role does not give you the space or support to do it well, this may be the fresh start you have been searching for.
The Opportunity
We are working with a well established, independent small animal practice in the Warrington area that has built something many vets spend years hoping to find: a calm, well equipped, genuinely supportive environment where clinical standards and colleague wellbeing are treated with equal importance.
They are now looking for a vet with solid all round GP experience, ideally with an interest in medicine and imaging, to step into a leadership role. You will guide a friendly, capable team, shape clinical standards, and help nurture a culture where people feel valued and pets receive exceptional care.
This is not about filling a rota gap. They want someone who enjoys mentoring, who communicates openly, and who thrives in a surgery that believes in doing things properly rather than rushing from task to task. If you want to influence how a practice runs without compromising your work life balance, this role offers exactly that.
Why This Role Is Different
A Purpose Built Environment That Makes Clinical Work Easier
The surgery is light, spacious, and kitted out with the technology you would expect from a modern independent practice. Efficient workflows and well designed spaces help you work comfortably and confidently.
A Team That Stays Because the Culture Works
You will join a genuinely collaborative group that values kindness, communication, and shared responsibility. They want a leader who will add to that, not bulldoze through it.
A Work Pattern That Respects the Rest of Your Life
The role follows
4 nine hour days
with
1 in 4 weekends
, giving you an average
39 hour week
. It is structured so you can give your best clinically without burning out emotionally.
A Leadership Role Without the Isolation
You will not be left to figure things out alone. The wider independent group offers internal leadership training, peer support, and a network of clinical leads who share knowledge and ideas.
Your Journey Here
In Your First Month:
You will get to know the team, understand how the surgery runs, and take the time you need to feel at home with their systems, equipment, and pace. You will begin taking the lead clinically while building trust naturally.
In Your First Three Months:
You will be confidently guiding the team, supporting newer vets, and shaping workflows that improve both patient outcomes and client experience. If you have a special interest in medicine or imaging, they will help you develop it.
In Your First Six Months:
You will be a key figure in driving clinical standards, strengthening team cohesion, and influencing the direction of the practice. If you want to pursue further training or a certificate, funding and encouragement are available.
