Join the team powering Daily Mail's 150M-strong social audience across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and more. We're looking for a sharp, agile Lead Video Editor to help elevate our short-form storytelling - bringing speed, polish, and creative flair to every frame.



This is a hybrid creative-technical role ideal for someone with fast instincts, strong editorial judgment, and deep platform fluency. You'll play a central role in shaping our most important output - editing stories that break through the noise across verticals including news, showbiz, money, health, and travel.




Main Responsibilities




Edit standout short-form and long-form video content optimised for social (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube etc.) Craft fast-paced, visually rich edits using kinetic text, memes, archival footage, and mixed media Collaborate with producers, writers, and on-screen talent to shape strong visual narratives Enhance stories with music, sound design, and motion graphics - ensuring a premium finish Help define the visual identity of new vertical brands, working closely with design and animation teams Maintain fast turnarounds without sacrificing quality -- adapting quickly to news moments and viral trends Stay on top of editing trends, platform shifts, and performance data to continuously optimise content.



Person Specification




3-5+ years of editing experience in a digital media or social-first content environment Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro; proficiency in After Effects, CapCut, or similar motion tools a plus Deep understanding of what performs on social - from hook to final frame Strong editorial instincts, with experience across multiple content genres (news, showbiz, creator-led) Fast, flexible, and collaborative -- able to work under pressure and iterate quickly with feedback Clear grasp of storytelling through text, voiceover, music, and visual rhythm
