About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Wastewater Technician to join our wastewater inspection team. This is a lead position within a 2-person operational team, where you will take responsibility for on-site decision making, performance standards, health & safety compliance, and equipment checks.

The primary function of the role involves working as part of a 2-man team to lift wastewater chamber lids and identify Dual-Manholes, and complete detailed chamber inspections, including the creation of a 360 digital model using a high-tech 360 camera unit.

Longer term, the vision for this role is to expand into a wider range of wastewater activities, including man-entry inspections, CCTV survey work, and other wastewater operational duties. However, in the initial phase, the role will be predominantly focused on 360 camera inspection work.

The inspections support the safe operation and maintenance of the Severn Trent wastewater network, with work carried out across the Severn Trent catchments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate a 2-person team on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required standards Take accountability for health & safety, including dynamic risk assessments and safe systems of work Carry out lifting and inspection of wastewater chambers Capture accurate 360 camera models using specialist inspection equipment Perform gas monitoring and confined space safety checks Ensure all equipment checks are completed and recorded prior to use Identify defects, hazards, or maintenance requirements and report findings clearly Complete accurate inspection reports and documentation Act as the main on-site decision maker and point of responsibility
Note: Full training will be provided on the 360 camera technology and reporting systems.

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' wastewater experience Full UK driving licence NRSWA Chapter 8

Proven experience in:

Work on Dual-Manholes CCTV surveys Jetting Rodding Chamber inspections Comfortable working in confined spaces and all-weather conditions Willingness to travel as required
