Head of Quality and Compliance
The Internal Quality Assurer, like all employees, is expected to act as role model for Dove Nest Group behaviours, to uphold the values and to encourage and promote the development of other employees.
Role Purpose
You will lead in the delivery of high-quality learning and qualifications to learners and provide robust IQA processes for all delivery and qualifications. You will work with the Head of Quality and Compliance to ensure the wider quality strategy is implemented, support the collection of stakeholder feedback and monitor the quality of delivery within the programmes on offer, reporting changes in quality and compliance trends on the learner journey to the Head of Quality and Compliance.
Your role will be to have overall responsibility for quality of provision and quality improvement within the area of responsibility. To support the monitoring and implementation of compliance with the apprenticeship provision at Dove Nest. To support the achievement of, maintain and improve the company's OFSTED grade, quality certifications and direct claim status. This will include supporting and managing inspections and audits conducted by external agencies and to support the self-assessment process to promote quality improvement throughout the department.
In summary, you will set the benchmark for quality and ensure that we provide an outstanding learner experience through the delivery of a unique apprenticeship journey.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that all Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers follow assessment procedures as recommended by the Awarding Organisations & Lead Bodies.
Ensure all Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers are occupationally competent, qualified and hold appropriate assessment qualifications (or are registered and working towards them in a timely manner).
Collect and collate Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers CV's, Assessor Qualifications e.g. D32/33/ A1/A2 / TAQA L3 and/or D34/V1/TAQA L4 certificates along with any teaching/learning qualifications PTTLS, DTTLS/CTTLS and show originals to the External Quality Assurer with a copy remaining on the Personal file in head office.
Ensure that all Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers are consistent in their interpretation of the National Occupational Standards.
Contribute to the creation and delivery of an IQA and Quality Monitoring assessment schedules for each Trainer/Assessor.
Contribute to the creation and delivery of a planned IQA Schedule for each Cohort of learners and track learner achievements, undertaking a schedule of formative and summative assessments to quality assure all Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers.
Contribute to the creation and delivery of a Quality Monitoring programme for all Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers conducting assessment visits based on the following frequency:
o Experienced Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers at least twice per year.
o New / less experienced (less than 12 months) Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers at least quarterly.
Request Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers make available learner portfolios to complete all IQA quality assurance processes as necessary, ensuring the prompt return to the trainer/assessors within 14 working days.
Ensure that every Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers has been internally quality assured across all units they have assessed with an annual updating of the Trainer Risk monitoring process.
Ensure that all newly qualified Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers have 100% of their assessment decisions quality assured until the IQA is satisfied with their consistency & standard of assessment.
Ensure unqualified Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers & those working towards their assessor awards have all assessment decisions countersigned / second signed by qualified Assessors.
Provided Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers with prompt and constructive feedback where action points are clear and timescales realistic.
Complete summative sampling on the completion of apprenticeship programmes submitting the request for certification in a timely manner.
Maintain comprehensive documentation associated with all aspects of the quality monitoring process and Awarding Organisation requirements, feeding back to Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers in a timely manner.
Lead the subject sector area in any audit and / or designated EQA visits from the Awarding Organisation ensuring all internal and external standards are maintained and surpassed.
Provide support, advice and training for Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers including standardisation of assessment & final IQA decisions assuming responsibility for the approval of all learners on programme within their subject area.
Conduct evaluation surveys with all stakeholders whilst carrying out on-site quality audits and assessments.
To provide high standard of delivery to cohorts of learners as required by the business inclusive of travel and any overnight stays.
To provide support and develop training materials for business processes such as "how to" guides and video for internal teams as needed.
All other roles or duties that are consummate with this role and this level.
Other Duties
To maintain and build up good staff relations with other departments.
To be aware of and adhere to Dove Nest Group Policies & Procedures and act upon them accordingly.
To communicate respectively with colleagues and other staff and guests.
To keep a clean, smart appearance in accordance with the Dress & Appearance Policy.
To be aware of and adhere to all Dove Nest Group rules and regulations ensuring they are actioned as requested by the company's health and safety policies.
To be vigilant at all times to ensure the safety & security of the property, Guests, other employees & self.
To carry out any other reasonable requests made by Senior Management.
Experience
Essential Criteria includes:
Extensive experience within the relevant sector at Supervisory/Management level
One of the following teaching qualifications - PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS, CertEd, PGCE
One of the following assessing qualifications - A1/A2, D32/33, CAVA or TAQA Level 3 or above Qualified
One of the following internal verification qualifications - V1, D34 or TAQA Level 4 Qualified
Possess a Coaching / Mentoring qualification at level 5 or above or have evidence or demonstratable experience of delivering / IQA the qualification at Level 5 or above.
Experience in delivering / IQA'ing the Team Leader and Operational Departmental Manager Standards inclusive of ILM or CMI qualifications
Experience of assessing /coaching within a 'Work Based' learning environment with experience of apprenticeship frameworks including Functional Skills
Experience of conducting and monitoring quality assurance processes and procedures in the 'Work Based' sector, whilst confirming assessment decisions
Familiar and competent in completing observations of Trainers / Assessors / Deliverers
Strong administration skills
Hold a full valid driving license and/oraccess to a form of transport which will allow the post holder to meet the requirements of the job in full. (This refers to any candidate who has declared that they have a disability which debars them from driving.)
Be able to successfully achieve ongoing security clearances in line with client needs to enable workplace learning to occur
Proficient in the use of Microsoft package
Desirable Criteria
Experience of coaching / mentoring new and existing Assessors / Trainers to meet quality standards of delivery
The ability to undertake a 'needs analysis' of training and development for staff
The ability Lead / chair standardisation meetings and processes, inspections and audits
Experience of managing External Quality Assurance visits and relationships with awarding bodies
Additional Information
The post holder's duties will require them to be able to travel across all parts of the UK for meetings/activities which may occasionally extend beyond normal office hours.
