Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and construction, demonstrating proficiency in various techniques and tools. As a Lead Carpenter, you will oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring quality workmanship while leading a team of carpenters. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpentry teams on-site. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and requirements. Construct, assemble, and fabricate structures using wood, metal, and other materials. Perform heavy lifting as needed for materials and equipment. Execute masonry tasks as required for various projects. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Conduct regular inspections of work performed by team members to ensure quality standards are met. Provide training and mentorship to junior carpenters in the use of power tools and construction techniques. Assist with roofing tasks when necessary, ensuring proper installation and maintenance. Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electrical workers, to complete integrated projects.

Requirements

Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Proficiency in using power tools safely and effectively. Familiarity with roofing systems and installation practices is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
