Are you passionate about helping adults overcome barriers to learning and employment? We're looking for a dedicated Learner Engagement Officer to support individuals in the Scarborough area in accessing life-changing education and skills opportunities.
You'll work directly with learners, especially those from disadvantaged or hard-to-reach groups, to provide personalised guidance, build confidence, and support progression into further learning or employment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide information, advice, guidance (IAG), and initial assessment to potential and existing learners.
Support learners with barriers to learning, including digital skills and confidence.
Refer learners to appropriate Adult Learning provision.
Represent ALSS at promotional events and job fairs.
Liaise with local, regional, and national agencies.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
Understanding of national/local adult learning priorities.
Awareness of barriers to learning for disadvantaged groups.
Multi-agency partnership experience.
IAG delivery and learner tracking.
Ability to support learners with low digital confidence.
Level 4 IAG qualification or equivalent experience.
Ability to travel across the county and attend meetings outside normal hours.
Desirable:
Knowledge of Community Learning and Adult Education Budget funding.
Experience in Further Education (FE) with adult learners.
Teaching or training qualification.
