We have an exciting opportunity for a Learner Manager in Hair Beauty & Catering who will be responsible for the development of students\xe2\x80\x99 employment skills which are linked to vocational/academic occupations with a focus on local You will be responsible for leading, creating and sustaining outstanding provision and ensuring high quality and innovative learning for students. Monitoring, evaluating and reviewing the curriculum delivery to maximise students\xe2\x80\x99 achievement and meet strategic targets.


Key Responsibilities


To provide creative and dynamic leadership which will create a culture based on the following key values:

  • Promoting high expectations and good conduct and encouraging the commitment of staff, leading by example;
  • Developing, managing and maintaining a culture of improvement and excellence within the College;
  • Establishing and maintaining positive and productive working relationships promoting an ethos which values, supports and encourages all College staff in the delivery of organisational goals;
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of effective communication within the College.
  • Manage and support a team of teachers to deliver high quality teaching and learning, with an ethos of high expectations of student achievement which results in high achievement
  • Direct and support a team of learning support staff to deliver high quality support for learners to promote equality of opportunity.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of curriculum developments in courses, qualifications and funding and actively contribute to the continuous development of a curriculum that meets local individual and business needs, including the development of non-funded commercial provision.

Qualifications and training




  • A recognised teaching qualification
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Vocational/Academic Qualification linked to Hair, Beauty or Catering
  • Recognised Management Qualification
  • Recognised internal quality assessment/verifier\xe2\x80\x99s qualification


Skills and expertise




  • Experience of leading and managing within a further education setting or other educational setting, delivering successful outcomes and raising attainment within set budgets.
  • An inspirational and motivational leader who is able to effectively communicate the vision and ethos of the learning area.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage in an educational organisation and balance competing priorities and a busy workload.
  • Significant knowledge, experience and innovation in the leadership and delivery of learning and teaching and assessment.
