WithYou are recruiting for an established Learning and Development Manager, to join our People, Inclusion and Organisational Development directorate. We're looking to hear from experienced, collaborative leaders, with a tangible passion for learning and development and the ability to ensure that our workforce are confident and capable in their roles. You will be a key part of our Organisational Development senior leadership team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organisational direction.

This is a new role for WithYou, working on a permanent, full time basis. You will work from home, with frequent national travel as required.

WithYou is a drug, alcohol and mental health charity employing over 1,600 staff. With over 80 services across England and Scotland, we provide support and advice without judgement to more than 100,000 people a year.

At WithYou, we work with people on their own goals, whether that's staying safe and healthy, making small changes or stopping an unwanted habit altogether. We give people support in a way that's right for them either face to face in their local service, community or online. We use our expertise to improve the help available and raise awareness around drugs, alcohol and mental health so that more people can get support.

The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for fostering a culture of learning, engagement and performance, that will support delivery of WithYou's strategy. Working closely with our Director of Organisational Development and other key stakeholders across WithYou, you will lead and develop a comprehensive development strategy for staff, that maximises meaningful development and builds organisational capabilities. This role will also manage a small team of Learning and Development Facilitators.

Other priorities include:

Developing and delivering learning frameworks and relevant, engaging and sustainable learning solutions

Ensuring all statutory training and learning accreditation requirements are met

Responsibility for planning, logistics and delivery of cost effective, sustainable development content programmes/resources including management of relevant apprenticeship and qualification bodies and processes

Leading on compliance tracking and monitoring of learner satisfaction, engagement and impact

Managing the development budget, relevant contracts and external supplier relationships

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate can help shape a learning strategy and bring it to life through practical and engaging learning approaches. You will be leading and developing a team of skilled, passionate and committed Trainer/Facilitators, delivering learning that not only builds skills and knowledge, but inspires and engages staff to continually grow, develop and improve our performance and service to our clients. You will be working with a range of stakeholders and providing effective advice and guidance to the wider organisation, across multiple sites. We are most interested in your drive and ability to contribute to the creation and development of an impactful OD function, through a passion for excellence and a desire to join a forward thinking organisation.

You should also have:

Experience of developing and delivering learning curriculums/frameworks

Experience of working in complex contexts, building capabilities across a range of roles at all levels

Experience of designing and delivering comprehensive blended learning programmes and wrap around support for learners in different functions / specialisms

The ability to create practical learning approaches aligned with strategy, organisational priorities and sector needs

Our interview process will consist of 3 stages.

Stages 1 and 2 will take place on either 4th or 5th September (you will be required to only attend one of these dates and at this stage you should hold the whole date). This part of our process will consist of an interactive session and a panel interview. If you have a preference, please indicate this clearly in your cover letter. Stage 3 will take place on the morning of 11th September and will involve a group exercise.

As an organisation, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices and experiences of our staff. We know that representing the communities we serve is key to us meeting our goals of radically improving people's lives. We welcome the unique contributions that you can bring and we encourage people from underrepresented communities and backgrounds to apply to join our team, including people with lived experience, people with disabilities, people from racialised communities, LGBTQ+ people, people of all ages and armed forces veterans.
