Our Learning and Organisational Development (L&OD) team provide the support and delivery to the University's HR People Plan, by designing and delivering effective solutions to identify learning, organisational design and development requirements. We are specifically looking for a L&OD business partner who can help the University adapt to change and promote and enable the University's new strategic plan for 2025-30. These include significant digital enhancements to the University's software and systems, and ensuring that we are the "right size and shape" going forward. Your role will be to help university staff adapt to these changes using a variety of Learning and Organisational Development initiatives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will work with the L&OD Business Partners, other members of the L&OD team and with the other HR teams as well as colleagues across the University to create and deliver both mandatory and bespoke training programmes and development initiatives. These support personal, management and professional development. You will take a lead in design, delivery and evaluation of a suite of programmes and be recognised as a subject expert. Effective use of technology is critical, as is building a learning culture with a strong focus on engagement. You will support a range of development initiatives, enable surveys in this area, and deliver management requirements. Evaluation tools and techniques will help you assess efficacy and engagement and enable the team to support all areas of the University by identifying opportunities for performance improvement.

Skills and experience required

You will have had substantial proven experience of Business Partnering or Learning & Organisational Development, with experience of designing and delivering people and organisational development strategies. Relationship-building, diagnosis and process or systems review, and use of evaluation tools and techniques are essential. Knowledge of the Higher Education sector would be highly advantageous.

You will be an excellent communicator with strong IT and technology skills, able to influence and persuade stakeholders at all levels. You will have strong written skills and be able to deliver effective programmes and presentations. You will have up to date project management skills, be able to plan, engage, conduct diagnosis, analyse findings and generate options on a range of projects and initiatives. Strong customer service skills are essential, along with the ability to manage complex and challenging situations with tact and diplomacy. You will be an effective team player, able to coach and guide colleagues.

Passion and integrity will drive your contribution and leadership style, representing both the department and the University in a highly professional manner. You will maintain Continuous Professional Development and demonstrate awareness and commitment to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Educated with a degree or equivalent substantial proven work experience. You must also hold a recognised professional qualification such as Chartered membership of the CIPD.
