Description



The role of the Learning Design Apprentice at Acorns is to create and develop our engaging and creative digital learning experiences in line with organisational requirements. The role will be supported through undertaking a Digital Learning Designer Level 5 Apprenticeship.



As a future learning professional, the role will support in the design, creation and delivery of online learning that encourages a blended learning approach. They will be of a curious mindset that champions innovation and seeks to engage at all levels, acting as a trusted partner to all. They will challenge the status quo always seeking to improve the experience of our learners, processes and activity organised within the department.



The role will ensure a positive learning experience for all and work collaboratively with the Learning team to provide a seamless, relevant, and human service to all its customers both internal & external.



Main duties:



Learning design responsibilities:



Develop and map learning output which includes structured content, formative learning activities, and summative assessments Create e-learning courses and virtual classroom sessions across a range of programmes Create digital media and other digital assets to agreed specifications using specialist learning technologies Facilitate design processes and activities with different stakeholders Scope the digital learning project requirements in liaison with stakeholders in response to an organisational learning need Work closely with the Learning Manager to analyse learning requirements to inform and agree on course materials in line with organisational needs

Learning administration responsibilities:



Regularly review and update existing training materials to ensure they remain current, accurate, and effective Gather and interpret feedback from learners and stakeholders on specific courses to contribute to the team's continuous improvement efforts To collaborate across the organisation engaging with learner's line managers to support their learning journey and share any concerns Organise and maintain the library of all in-house training materials and facilitator resources Contribute to the planning and documentation of learning design projects, ensuring timelines are met Work collaboratively with all the Learning team to ensure a seamless and consistent experience for our customers To support in the absence of other Learning teams members where necessary

Other duties:



To act as an ambassador for Acorns raising awareness of its charitable aims and objectives and enhancing its reputation through exemplary behaviour, conduct and team working. To contribute to Acorns fundraising aims by raising awareness with your stakeholder groups about how vital fundraising is to the charity's mission and sharing opportunities for fundraising support To put the needs and interests of Acorns children and young people and their families first in all aspects of their work. To ensure compliance with Acorns policies for diversity, employment, equal opportunities, health and safety, information governance and safeguarding. To actively participate in an annual performance and development review process and any training and development identified to further enhance your role with Acorns. Promote a coaching culture within Acorns and provide coaching expertise as a resource across the organisation. To carry out any other reasonable duty as requested by your line manager. Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSE's at a grade 4 (C) or above including Maths and English. Ability to travel between sites (Selly Oak, Walsall and Worcester). Prior digital and learning and design qualifications are desried but not necessary. Proficient in using Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator etc. Digitally literate - Microsoft Office, LMS systems and modern cloud-based environment. Experience in a customer facing role with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience of delivering learning initiatives within a care, fundraising or retail or customer service environment. Innovative mindset and passionate about learning. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise. Positive, enthusiastic approach and can-do attitude.

Training to be provided



You will undertake the groundbreaking Apprentify Digital Learning Design Level 5 Apprenticeship, tutored by industry experts.



This programme is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the digital learning industry. You will explore the field's breadth, delve into project management and learning theories, and gain hands-on experience crafting engaging learning journeys. Through the course, you will develop expertise in instructional design, utilise various learning technologies, and ensure accessibility in their work. You'll also learn to identify organisational needs, create targeted learning strategies, and evaluate the

effectiveness of your creations for continuous improvement.



Key learning outcomes:



Understand how digital learning fits within your organisation and community. Master project management skills for scoping digital learning projects. Grasp the differences between Pedagogy and Andragogy in learning design. Apply learning theories to create effective learning content. Ensure web accessibility compliance in your learning materials. Analyse organisational needs to develop targeted learning strategies. Plan and design a complete learning experience with multimedia elements. Develop a deep understanding of copyright laws and ethical consideration.

Duration:

15 months plus a 16 week End Point Assessment
